Hypericum (also called St John’s wort) has been one of the most talked about herbs in the past 10 years, but has actually been widely-used for centuries, for treating nervous conditions. A recent report from Germany states that there are about three million prescriptions written annually for hypericum, making it more popular than other conventional “anxiety” drugs. Over the last 17 years there have been dozens of clinical trials confirming its therapeutic value.
Dosage: Adults and children over 12 cam take 5 mL diluted in 100 mL of water or juice, twice daily, before or after meals. Children 6-12 years can half the adult dose. Each 5 mL contains Hypericum perforatum extract equivalent to dry herb top fl. 1 g.
