My Darjeeling is a good companion for the whole day as it is mellow and easy going, yet delivers a rich earthy flavor.
Before your first sip, breathe in the aroma and you’ll be rewarded with that really musky scent of muscatel – the same fragrance that is left on my clothes when I walk around the Makaibari tea estate in Darjeeling.
Rajah, my friend who owns the Makaibari Estate where this tea comes from, lives by this simple mantra: “the better the soil, the better the taste”.
And in this spirit he created the world’s first organic biodynamic tea garden, where the tea pickers, wildlife and tea bushes all live in harmony with each other in an environment free of chemical pesticides.
As I always pay a quality premium for my tea, the extra income can be invested in things the tea pickers need, like child care, tree planting and school computers.
Suggested Use
To enjoy my Darjeeling tea, infuse one level teaspoon per cup of freshly boiled water for 3 minutes.
